OtterBox introduces New Reflex Series for iPhone 4 and Curve 8500/9300

OtterBox has been working hard on their next series of cases called Reflex. These cases take the traditional OtterBox Commuter Series to an all new level. The Reflex Series sports a polycarbonate and rubber layer, and a cushion zone to surround the device. The Reflex Series is designed to take impact from drops and bumps, and then rebound back into its original form. These cases are inspired by a crumple zone of a car, its meant to be beaten and yet spring back into action, again and again.

OtterBox has unveiled their Reflex Series for both the Apple iPhone 4 and BlackBerry Curve 8500/9300 series. These cases will be available in two colors (grey/black or pink/black) for $44.95 each. This is the first time I’ve heard of this brand, Ballistic, but apparently their cases can be found at AT&T retail stores. The Ballistic HC Series case is a rugged case designed with five layers (yes five layers) of “hard core” protection for your smartphone. Previously they only offered cases for the iPhone 4 and HTC Evo, but today Ballistic announced their new HC Series case for the BlackBerry Curve 8500 and new Curve 3G 9300 series.

This story is a little crazy.. A woman in Dayton escaped injury, when her boyfriends handgun took a shot at her. According to reports the woman’s boyfriend was putting on his jacket, when it caught on his .38 caliber handgun and fired at the women. Luckily the bullet did not hit her, however it nailed her BlackBerry Curve 8520/8530 which was protected by Case-Mate’s Barely There Case in green. So she’s a very lucky person, and now she needs a new BlackBerry and case…

After CES 2010 finished up, I was a little curious to take a closer look at Speck’s new cases for BlackBerry smartphones. Last week Speck unveiled new stylish cases for the BlackBerry Tour 9630, Curve 8520/8530, Storm2, and Bold 9700. At first I thought they only introduced the Pixel series, but come to find out they’ve got several different styles including fabric wrapped cases.
